IMDb lists Best 10 movies based on Stephen King stories
All of the most important King movies are on this IMDb list . These movies happen to be the ones that when channel surfing, you can't help but watch the film again for the umpteenth time, that is how I compile a best movie list of my own. How do you compile your best SK movie list? Quick question, who thinks there should be a Stephen King Scene It? game? That would be crazy cool. Stephen King Trivial Pursuit is also another idea for a game.
The Shawshank Redemption
Stand by Me
The Green Mile
The Shining
Carrie
Misery
Delores Claiborne
The Mist
The Running Man
Secret Window

Save the Date: September 23, 2011 Fall for the Book Event
Stephen King will be honored with a Mason Award at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. He is scheduled to speak, read, or do both for approx. 30-45 minutes then receive his award, and maybe (and that's a big maybe) do a book signing. Ms. Mod posted here about the event.
No information has come forth on ticketing so far but ATSK will stay on top of any ticketing information. Read the press release here: fallforthebook.org
***This event is scheduled about 45 min. to1 hour from my home. Yet another chance to see King!

Geesh......NO NEW STEPHEN KING NEWS!!
Nope, nothing, nada, zilch, zero!!! This has been a very dry period for Stephen King news. ATSK has been waiting for news on the next book for the fall or maybe CD will offer another novella like Blockade Billy. Ms. Mod mentioned that they forgot to name the book during the UStream chat earlier this year. All I could say to that was what, nooooooo, how could you forget to announce it? (We were so close to knowing...ha ha) Now we won't know until sometime in March thru May (I'm guessing) but you just never know, it could be sooner. News on the upcoming multitude of movies would be nice too, until then we sit in a suspenseful limbo.

"The Stand" on the BIG SCREEN according to The Hollywood Reporter
The Hollywood Reporter article here .
After the exceptional graphic novels published of The Stand, I embrace the idea of another reason to head to the theatre. Warner Bros. and CBS have a chance to take this film and make it an instant classic if they do it right. Warner Bros. has my vote after The Harry Potter film(s) The Deathly Hallows Part 1 was done so well that I believe that they could take The Stand to the next level and beyond. Warner Bros.
"gets" the concept of a dark film, so have at it!
