Cool :) Just can't wait
ReplyDeleteD.
Hi D.,
ReplyDeleteI know, it's exciting isn't it? Cool for sure. I guess that leaves "Doctor Sleep", then what I begin to wonder? Good to hear from you, how have you been? I hope well. Have a great day.
I was a little busy, but I'm pretty well and working on the Bulgarian translation of "Books of Blood" by Clive Barker. Remember this: "I have seen the future of horror, his name is Clive Barker. - Stephen King" :)
ReplyDeleteI believe it's a matter of time to see "Doctor Sleep" published, but "The Talisman 3" could be first ;) And I'm sure King has a few surprises for us...
D.
Hey D.,
ReplyDeleteI've been busy too but not with anything as pressing as translating a book. :) I haven't read any of Clive's books but the reviews seem great. How do his "Books of Blood" compare to King's books?
Personally, I would be happy with "Doctor Sleep" or "The Talisman 3". Yeah, it seems about time for another King/Straub collaboration.
Barker has a great style, nothing like King, but still great. Peculiar, metaphorical, atmospherical, and very obsessive. But sometimes he's too graphic, most of his short prose is a true splatter. If you are not into splatter, better try some of his novels, they are mainly dark fantasy with/without horror elements. Believe me, you will be obsessed ;)
ReplyDeleteD.
Btw, be sure to see Clive Barker's Candyman (1992) and Hellraiser (1987) ;)
ReplyDeleteD.
D.,
ReplyDeleteI can stream both through Netflix. Streaming 'Candyman'at this very moment.
Hope you like it :) Candyman is based on a short story, Hellraiser on a novella. Both are early Barker, before he gave up horror for the sake of fantasy.
ReplyDeleteOf course reading Barker is much better experience ;)
